마이크론 로고.[로이터 연합뉴스] 특허관리기업(NPE) 미미르IP가 SK하이닉스로부터 특허를 넘겨받은 뒤 미국 마이크론을 상대로 소송을 제기했다.

16일 반도체 업계에 따르면 미미르IP는 지난 3일 미국 텍사스 동부지방법원과 미국 국제무역위원회(ITC)에 마이크론을 특허 침해 혐의로 제소했다.마이크론 제품을 사용한 테슬라,스포츠경기 라이브델,스포츠경기 라이브HP,스포츠경기 라이브레노버 등도 소송 대상에 포함했다.

미미르IP는 지난달 SK하이닉스로부터 반도체 특허 1500여개를 넘겨받았다.이후 회로,전압측정 장치,스포츠경기 라이브비휘발성 메모리 장치 등에서 소송을 냈다.

이번 특허 침해 소송은 SK하이닉스와는 직접적인 관련이 없는 것으로 알려졌다.다만 SK하이닉스와 마이크론이 고대역폭메모리(HBM)를 비롯한 인공지능(AI) 반도체 시장에서 경쟁하고 있는 만큼 결과에 관심이 쏠린다.후발주자인 마이크론은 올해 초 HBM3를 건너뛰고 HBM3E 대량생산을 시작했으며 엔비디아에 납품한다고 밝혔다.시장조사업체 밸류에이츠 리포트에 따르면 글로벌 HBM 시장은 오는 2030년까지 연평균 68.1% 성장할 것으로 관측된다.AI 반도체 시장 경쟁이 치열해지면서 글로벌 기업 간 특허 소송은 더욱 늘어날 것으로 보인다.

지난 3월에는 SK하이닉스에서 D램과 HBM 설계 관련 업무를 담당하던 직원이 마이크론에 임원급으로 이직한 사실이 뒤늦게 알려지며 기술 유출 대책 마련이 시급하다는 지적도 나왔다.SK하이닉스는 해당 직원을 상대로 전직금지 가처분 신청을 냈고 서울중앙지법 제50민사부(재판장 김상훈)는 이를 인용하고 위반 시 1일당 1000만원을 지급하라고 결정했다.
