지난 대선 국면에서 윤석열 대통령의 명예를 훼손하는 내용의 허위 보도 의혹으로 화천대유 대주주 김만배 씨와 신학림 전 언론노조위원장이 재판에 넘겨졌습니다.

지난해 9월 검찰이 특별수사팀을 꾸려 수사를 본격화한 지 10개월 만입니다.

지난 대선을 앞두고 허위 인터뷰를 보도해 윤석열 대통령의 명예를 훼손한 혐의를 받는 화천대유 대주주 김만배 씨와 신학림 전 언론노조위원장이 재판에 넘겨졌습니다.

검찰이 신 씨의 주거지 등을 압수수색하며 수사를 시작한 지 약 10개월 만입니다.

서울중앙지검 반부패수사1부는 김 씨와 신 씨를 명예훼손과 청탁금지법 위반,범죄수익은닉 규제법 위반 등 혐의로 구속기소했다고 밝혔습니다.

이들은 2022년 3월,대선을 사흘 앞두고 허위 인터뷰로 윤 대통령의 명예를 훼손한 혐의를 받습니다.

해당 인터뷰는 2011년 부산저축은행 수사 당시 대검 중수과장이었던 윤 대통령이 대장동 대출 브로커 조우형 씨 사건을 무마해줬다는 취지의 내용으로,뉴스타파를 통해 보도됐습니다.

검찰은 김 씨가 허위 인터뷰를 대가로 신 씨에게 책값 명목으로 1억 6,바카라 필리핀500만 원을 건넨 것으로 보고 있습니다.

또,바카라 필리핀신 씨와 공모해 허위 사실을 보도한 혐의를 받는 김용진 뉴스타파 대표와 한 모 기자도 불구속기소 됐습니다.

이와 별개로 검찰은 신 씨에게 공갈 혐의도 적용했습니다.

신 씨가 정기현 전 국립중앙의료원장에게 자신의 책을 무단으로 양도했다며 인간관계를 단절시키겠다는 취지로 협박해 4,700만 원을 받아냈다는 겁니다.

검찰은 보도 과정에 배후 세력의 개입이 있었는지 여부와 함께 다른 언론사에 대한 수사도 이어갈 방침입니다.
