[헤럴드경제=심아란 기자] 국내 저비용항공사(LCC)들이 여름 휴가철을 앞두고 초과 수하물 요금을 최대 5000원 인상한다.성수기에 해외여행을 준비 중인 여행객들의 항공료 부담은 커질 것으로 예상된다.

4일 항공업계에 따르면 진에어는 이달부터 초과 수하물 요금을 인상했다.초과 수하물은 기본(무료)으로 제공하는 위탁·기내 수하물의 중량을 넘어서는 것을 뜻한다.현장 구매 초과 수하물은 대부분 노선에서 1㎏당 1000원을 올렸고 사전 구매 초과 수하물은 5㎏당 국내선은 2000원,라이트닝 바카라 시스템국제선은 5000원을 인상했다.진에어가 초과 수하물 요금을 인상한 건 지난 2019년 1월 이후 5년 6개월 만이다.

앞서 제주항공은 올 3월 4일부로 이미 수하물 요금을 인상했다.15㎏의 수하물의 온라인 사전구매 시 국내선은 5000원,라이트닝 바카라 시스템일본 노선 등은 1만원을 인상했다.

이스타항공도 오는 8월부터 모든 항공편의 수하물 요금을 올릴 예정이다.수하물을 사전에 구매하면 기본 15㎏에 추가 5㎏당 국내선은 8000원에서 1만원으로,라이트닝 바카라 시스템일본 노선은 3만5000원에서 4만5000원으로 올린다.현장 구매 추가 수하물에 대해서는 1㎏당 국내선의 경우 1000원,동남아 노선의 경우 2000원 인상된 요금이 적용된다.

에어서울은 지난달부터 일반 운임을 기준으로 사전 구매 5㎏당 일본 노선은 3만5000원에서 4만원으로,라이트닝 바카라 시스템동남아 노선은 5만5000원에서 6만원으로 5000원씩 가격을 인상했다.

LCC의 수하물 요금 인상 배경으로 인건비,유가,물가 등 제반 비용 상승이 꼽힌다.해외 여행수요가 커지면서 LCC는 대부분 1분기 역대 최대 경영 실적을 달성했다.그러나 항공사 간 경쟁이 심화하면서 수익성이 부실해진 측면도 있다.
