[서울=뉴시스] 조현아 기자 = 서울 철도역 주변 노숙인에게 역사 주변을 정비하는 '청소 일자리'가 제공된다.

서울시와 한국철도공사(코레일)는 16일 오후 서울역에서 노숙인 자립을 돕기 위한 '노숙인 일자리 업무협약'을 체결한다다.

두 기관은 이번 협약을 통해 서울역 18명,청량리역 10명,영등포역 16명 등 역사 주변 노숙인 44명에게 청소사업단 일자리를 제공한다.

서울시와 코레일은 2012년 서울역 노숙인 473명을 대상으로 사업을 시작한 이후 2018년 청량리역 60명,뉴질랜드 크라이스트처치 카지노2019년 영등포역 110명의 노숙인에게 청소 일자리를 제공했다.

이번 협약도 2021~2023년 영등포역 청소사업단에 참여했던 노숙인 73명 중 23명이 한국철도공사 계열사인 ㈜코레일테크에 재취업한 것을 계기로 이뤄졌다.

참여자는 안전교육 등 소정의 교육과정을 거쳐 이달부터 내년 1월까지 6개월 간 코레일에서 제공하는 청소사업단 업무에 참여하게 된다.
