14일 경찰 등에 따르면 이날 오전 9시30분쯤 "지인이 연락되지 않고 극단적 선택이 우려된다"는 취지의 112 신고가 접수됐다.

이에 경찰은 40대 남성 A씨의 소재 파악에 나섰고 양주시 한 공터에 주차된 승용차에서 피를 흘린 채 쓰러진 A씨를 발견했다.

당시 현장에는 A씨 이외에도 40대 여성 B씨가 숨진 채 발견됐다.

A씨는 인근 병원으로 옮겨져 치료를 받고 있으며 경찰은 A씨가 B씨를 살해했을 가능성이 있다고 보고 그를 현행범으로 체포했다.

경찰은 A씨의 치료가 끝나는 대로 정확한 사건 경위 등을 조사할 방침이다.
