[서울=뉴시스]이인준 기자 = SK하이닉스가 치매 환자와 발달 장애인의 실종 예방을 위한 민관 협력 사업에 힘을 보탠다.

SK하이닉스는 5일 경기도 이천 본사에서 보건복지부,유튜버 도박경찰청과 함께 '치매환자·발달장애인 배회감지기(행복GPS) 무상보급을 위한 업무협약(MOU)'을 체결했다고 밝혔다.

SK하이닉스는 지난 2017년부터 행복GPS 단말기를 무상으로 보급하고 2년간 통신비를 전액 지원하는 사회공헌활동을 벌이고 있다.

지난 7년 동안 누적으로 3만1000여대 행복GPS가 보급됐고,이를 통해 2230여건의 실종자 발견이 이뤄지는 등 SK하이닉스의 사회적가치 성과 창출액은 금액으로 53억원에 달한다.

SK하이닉스는 이 협약을 통해 지난해 대비 60% 증가한 신규 행복GPS 4590대를 추가 지원한다.

사업 재원은 회사 구성원들이 자발적으로 모금한 '행복나눔기금'으로 운영된다.새로 지원하는 기기는 이용자 착용 여부 감지 및 알람,헬스케어 기능 등이 추가된 최신 모델이다.

복지부는 기기 수급 대상자 선정 및 보급을 지원하며,경찰청은 실종자 수색에 이를 적극 활용할 방침이다.이와 함께 SK하이닉스는 기존 보급 기기 4131대의 통신비 지원 기간도 더 연장하기로 했다.

이날 협약식에는 이기일 보건복지부 제1차관과 윤희근 경찰청장,김동섭 SK하이닉스 대외협력 사장 등이 참석했다.

김동섭 사장은 “실종 취약계층의 사회안전망 구축에 기여하는 성공적인 민·관 협력 모델로 자리 잡을 수 있도록 더 많은 지원을 강구하겠다"고 말했다．
