(서울=연합뉴스) 김태균 기자 = 나이스신용평가(나신평)는 '올레핀' 석유화학 제품의 공급 과잉이 계속된다며 이 제품의 비중이 높은 석유화학사의 신용등급과 등급 전망을 잇달아 하향 조정했다.

27일 나신평의 '석유화학사 2024년 상반기 정기평가 결과' 보고서에 따르면 한화토탈에너지스의 등급은 'AA/N'에서 'AA-/S'로,SK피아이씨글로벌은 'A/N'에서 'A-/S'로 각각 낮춰졌다.

효성화학도 'A-/N'에서 'BBB+/N'으로 신용등급이 떨어졌다.

롯데케미칼,엔트리 코딩한화솔루션,HD현대케미칼,엔트리 코딩SK어드벤스드는 신용등급 전망이 '부정적'으로 바뀌었다.

나신평은 이번 하향 조정과 관련해 "사업 포트폴리오에서 올레핀계 범용 제품 비중이 높아 수익성 개선이 제한적이고,신규 투자 등으로 차입금 부담이 증가하거나 재무안정성 저하가 계속될 개연성 등을 고려했다"고 설명했다.

올레핀계 제품은 탄소(C) 간 이중 결합 구조를 가진 화합물로 '프로필렌' '에틸렌' 등이 대표적 예다.이런 물질은 석유화학 업계의 '쌀'로 비유되며 섬유,엔트리 코딩필름,인조가죽,엔트리 코딩우레탄 등을 만드는 데 쓰인다.

프로필렌과 에틸렌 등의 생산 증설 분량이 수요에 비해 너무 많고,엔트리 코딩2025∼2027년 중국·중동의 증설 프로젝트까지 예정된 만큼 공급 과잉 문제가 상당 기간 계속될 것으로 나신평은 진단했다.

나신평은 "(최대 수요처인) 중국은 정부의 부양 정책에도 석유화학 제품의 수요 회복이 예상보다 지연될 개연성이 존재한다.외국 경쟁 업체보다 원가 구조가 높은 탓에 국내 업체들은 앞으로 수급 상황이 나아져도 이익 창출력이 과거 호황기 때보다 미흡할 수 있다"고 내다봤다.

나신평은 "특히 2026년 이후 가동되는 중동 설비는 중국보다도 원가 경쟁력이 우수할 것으로 예상된다.이 경우 한국 NCC(원유에서 화학 제품을 추출하는 설비) 업계는 과거 일본처럼 유휴설비 통합·축소 등 구조조정이 가속할 개연성이 크다"고 덧붙였다.
