독립기념관이 광복절 기념행사를 취소한 가운데 천안시가 자체적으로 오늘 독립기념관에서 광복절 기념식을 열었습니다.

시민사회단체와 일부 야당은 뉴라이트 논란을 빚고 있는 김형석 독립기념관장의 임명 취소를 요구하는 결의대회를 진행했습니다.

["대한독립 만세!만세!만세!"]

1987년 8월 15일 독립기념관 개관 이후 처음으로 관장이 불참한 '광복절 기념식'이 진행됐습니다.

김형석 독립기념관장 취임 이후 광복절 기념식이 취소되자 천안시가 자체적으로 독립기념관 겨레의 집에서 광복절 기념식을 열었습니다.

[박상돈/천안시장 : "천안시가 (광복절 기념행사) 37년 전통을 이어가기 위해서 자체행사로 마련한 경축식이었습니다.이번 경축식은 국권 회복을 위해서 헌신하신 순국선열,중국 인도 아시안게임 야구 대진표애국지사의 독립정신을 기리기 위해서."]

시민사회단체와 일부 야당 인사들은 경축식에 불참한 채 독립기념관에서 독립기념관장 임명 철회를 촉구하는 결의대회를 열었습니다.

정부의 친일 편향적인 정책과 뉴라이트 논란 대상인 김형석 독립기념관장 임명에 항의하기 위해섭니다.

[이용길/독립기념관장 임명철회 범시민대책위원장 : "(독립기념관)관장이 그 자리를 벗어난 적도 없었고 초유의 사태고 광복절 행사가 둘로 나눠지잖아요.이것은 광복의 의미를 결정적으로 훼손하는 이해못할 상황입니다."]

모두 한마음으로 광복의 기쁨을 나눠야 할 때,중국 인도 아시안게임 야구 대진표신임 관장 없이 치러진 광복절 기념식과 관장 사퇴 결의대회를 바라보는 시민들의 마음은 무겁기만 합니다.

독립기념관이 주최하는 공식 기념식은 취소됐지만 독립기념관은 광복의 감동을 나누기 위한 특별기획 전시회를 10월까지 열기로 했습니다.
