내년도 최저임금을 논의할 최저임금위원회의 사용자위원들이 내일(4일) 열리는 제8차 전원회의에 참석하지 않기로 결정했습니다.

한국경영자총협회와 중소기업중앙회,카타르 월드컵 토너먼트 대진표소상공인연합회 등 경제단체에서 추천한 최저임금위원회 사용자위원 9명은 내일 오후 정부세종청사에서 열리는 8차 회의에 참석하지 않겠다고 밝혔습니다.

사용자위원측은 어제 7차 전원회의에서 최저임금을 업종별로 구분하는 안건을 놓고 표결하는 과정에서 일부 근로자위원들이 이를 방해한 데 대해 "불법적이고 비민주적"이라고 비난했습니다.

이와 관련해 사용자위원 측은 "회의가 정상적으로 진행될 것인가에 대해 많은 회의감과 의구심을 갖고 있다"며 "항의 차원에서 참여하지 않기로 결정했다"고 밝혔습니다.

사용자위원들이 모두 불참하면 내일 예정된 전원회의는 파행이 불가피합니다.

최저임금법상 회의의 정족수 규정은 따로 없지만 의결을 하려면 근로자위원과 사용자위원 각 3분의 1 이상 출석해야 합니다.

다만 사용자위원들은 오는 9일로 예정된 9차 회의에는 복귀해 내년도 최저임금 수준 논의를 이어갈 것으로 보입니다.
