(도쿄=연합뉴스) 박상현 특파원 = 기시다 후미오 일본 총리가 내달 하순께 치러지는 집권 자민당 총재 선거에 불출마한다는 의향을 보였다고 교도통신이 14일 정권 간부 발언을 인용해 보도했다.

기시다 총리는 지난해 연말 자민당 '비자금 스캔들'이 불거진 이후 내각 지지율이 '퇴진 위기' 수준인 10∼20%대에 머물자 당 안팎에서 퇴진 압박을 받아왔다.

기시다 총리는 그동안 총재 선거 출마 여부에 대해 명확한 입장을 내놓지 않았으나,토토 최고금액저조한 내각 지지율에 결국 불출마로 가닥을 잡은 것으로 보인다.

내각제인 일본에서는 다수당 대표가 총리가 되며 현재 제1당은 자민당이다.
