10일 서울경찰 공식 유튜브 채널에‘주운 카드로 골드바를?범인 알아본 형사의 추격전’이라는 제목의 영상이 올라왔다.

영상엔 서울의 한 귀금속 가게로 들어오는 한 남성의 모습이 담겼다.남성은 250만원 상당의 골드바를 구매하고 싶다며 직원에게 카드를 건넸다.하지만 카드 잔액 부족으로 결제가 되지 않자 황급히 가게를 빠져나가는 남성.

잠시 후 "분실한 카드를 누군가 사용하려 했다"는 신고가 경찰에 접수됐다.사건을 접수한 경찰은 귀금속 가게 폐쇄회로(CC)TV 영상으로 범인을 특정해 이동 경로를 역추적했다.

수사에 나선 경찰은 우연히 길에서 한 남성을 발견했다.귀금속 가게 폐쇄회로(CC)TV 영상에서 타인의 카드로 골드바를 구매하려 했던 바로 그 남성이었다.

범인이 맞는지 확인하기 위해 경찰이 다가가 인적사항을 묻자 남성은 동생의 인적사항을 둘러댔다.CCTV 속 남성도 자신이 아니라고 잡아뗐다.

심지어 경찰과 대화하던 해당 남성은 갑자기 도주하기 시작했다.경찰은 이내 빠른 속도로 추격해 남성을 검거했다.

조사 결과 남성은 5개월간 피해자 14명의 휴대전화와 카드를 습득해 117회에 걸쳐 부정사용한 것으로 드러났다.그 피해금액만 약 370만원에 달한다.

남성은 결국 경찰에 구속됐다.
