(로마=연합뉴스) 신창용 특파원 = 유럽연합(EU)-중국 무역분쟁 최대 피해국 중 하나로 꼽히는 스페인이 17일(현지시간) 협상을 통한 문제 해결을 촉구했다고 로이터 통신이 보도했다.

루이스 플라나스 스페인 농수산식품부 장관은 이날 중국이 EU산 돼지고기와 돼지 부산물에 대한 반덤핑 조사를 발표하자 "관세가 부과되지 않도록 이해와 협상의 여지가 있기를 바란다"고 말했다.

그는 다만 "즉각적인 조치가 나올 것으로 예상하지는 않는다"고 덧붙였다.

중국의 이번 조치는 EU가 지난 12일 과잉 보조금을 받아 시장 경쟁을 왜곡한다며 중국산 전기차에 대해 최고 48%의 '관세 폭탄'을 예고한 데 따른 보복 조치 성격이다.

중국은 1년간 조사에 착수한 뒤 반덤핑 관세를 부과할 예정이다.

중국은 세계 최대 돼지고기 수입국으로 절반 이상을 EU에서 들여오고 있다.

그중에서도 가장 큰 비중을 차지하는 스페인은 '고래 싸움에 낀 새우' 신세다.

스페인은 전 세계에서 중국에 돼지고기를 가장 많이 수출하는 국가로 연간 15억달러(약 2조원) 상당을 판매하고 있다고 로이터 통신은 전했다.
