개인정보보호위원회(이하 개인정보위)는 개인정보 안심구역 시범운영기관 세 곳을 추가 지정했다고 2일 밝혔다.국비 지원 부문에는 한국도로공사가,자체 구축 부문에는 한국사회보장정보원과 더존비즈온이 이름을 올렸다.

선정된 세 기관은 하반기 중 안심구역 운영 요건에 맞는 시설과 기능을 갖추고,최종 현장 실사를 거쳐 연내 본격 운영에 돌입한다.

개인정보 안심구역은 제로트러스트 원칙 하에 보안,개인정보 보호 등 환경적 안전성을 갖춘 상태에서 유연하게 가명정보를 처리할 수 있도록 돕는 제도다.데이터를 장기간 보관 혹은 활용할 수 있고,보관 데이터를 제3자가 재사용할 수 있다는 점도 장점이다.현재 안심구역은 통계청과 국립암센터가 지정돼 있다.

이번에 시범 운영기관으로 추가 지정된 세 기관은 각각 국토교통,유플러스 프로야구 pc사회복지,보건의료 분야를 중심으로 데이터 활용을 지원한다.

한국도로공사는 국토교통 분야에서 데이터 활용 연구를 지원한다.한국도로교통공사의 경우 다양한 데이터 결합을 추진해왔지만,결합키 사용에 제약이 있어 이종 분야 데이터와 결합할 때 데이터 활용에 애로가 있었다.향후 안심구역을 통해 결합키를 활용하게 되면 국토교통분야,유플러스 프로야구 pc이종 분야 간 고품질 결합 데이털르 생산해 연구자들에게 제공이 가능해질 전망이다.

양청삼 개인정보위 개인정보정책국장은 "안심구역으로 지정된 시범운영 기관에서 다양하고 창의적인 활용 사례가 도출될 수 있도록 지원하고 있다"며 "운영 성과를 바탕으로 안심구역 제도 개선 및 제도화를 준비해 나가겠다"고 강조했다.
