경남 거창군 거창읍의 '거창교'가 폭우로 일부 붕괴됐다는 가짜 사진이 유포되면서 지역사회가 소동을 빚었다.

11일 거창군에 따르면 전날 각종 소셜미디어(SNS)와 온라인 커뮤니티에는 거창교 일부가 붕괴된 것처럼 보이는 사진이 잇따라 올라왔다.

사진 속 거창교는 상판이 갈라져 기울어진 모습이었다.

해당 사진이 일파만파 퍼지면서 '거창교가 무너진 것 같다'는 신고가 잇따랐고 경찰은 10일 오전 9시부터 2시간가량 거창교를 통제하기도 했다.

하지만 경찰 확인 결과 거창교는 사진과 달리 파손된 곳 없이 멀쩡한 상태였다.

거창군에 따르면 해당 사진은 합성 사진인 것으로 나타났다.한 군민이 합성 사진을 모바일 단체 대화방에 올리면서 퍼져나간 것으로 전해졌다.

이 단체 대화방에는 거창군의원도 들어가 있는 것으로 알려졌다.

합성 사진을 제작하거나 배포한 이는 아직 확인되지 않았지만 사진 한 장으로 경찰과 군청 직원들은 갑작스러운 교량 통제에 동원되고 주민은 교통 통제로 불편을 겪어야 했다.

거창관 관계자는 "합성 사진이 유포되면서 교량이 통제되는 등 한때 소동을 빚었다"며 "누가 어떤 목적으로 합성 사진을 만들어 배포했는지 경찰에 수사 의뢰하는 방안을 고려 중"이라고 말했다.
