LG유플러스가 자체 개발한 생성형 인공지능(AI)‘익시젠’(ixi-GEN·사진)을 선보였다고 25일 밝혔다.

LG유플러스는 “LG AI연구원의 초거대 AI‘엑사원’에 LG유플러스의 통신·플랫폼 데이터를 학습시킨 소형언어모델(sLLM)”이라면서 “연내 익시젠을 △네트워크(NW) 업무 비서(에이전트) △챗 에이전트 △모바일 매장 보조 등 AI 서비스 약 8개에 적용할 계획”이라고 말했다.이를 향후 기업 AI 업무 에이전트에 적용하면 불필요한 사내 소통 시간을 절반 이상 감축할 수 있을 것이라고 내다봤다.

익시젠의 가장 큰 특징은 가볍고 빠르게 AI 기반 서비스를 제공한다는 점으로 꼽힌다.생성형 AI 활용을 원하는 기업 간 거래(B2B) 고객은 특정 지식을 익시젠에 학습시켜 지속적으로 성능을 높여갈 수 있다.이외에도 익시젠은 보안성에 강점이 있다.대규모언어모델(LLM)보다 경량화한 모델이기에 기업의 전산 서버에 직접 설치하는 구축형(온프레미스·On-premise)으로도 활용이 가능하다.이는 기업 데이터의 외부 반출을 근원적으로 막는 방식이다.

LG유플러스는 익시젠 기반의 AI 개발 플랫폼‘익시 솔루션(Solution)’도 선보였다.이를 활용하면 전문 개발자는 LG유플러스의 다양한 AI 엔진을 활용해 AI 서비스를 빠르게 개발·적용할 수 있다.비전문가는 간단한 작업만으로 AI 서비스를 테스트하고 현업에 활용이 가능하다.LG유플러스는 우선 임직원 대상으로 이를 공개할 계획이다.

황규별 LG유플러스 최고데이터책임자(CDO)는 “익시젠의 강점은‘가벼움과 속도감’”이라면서 “사내 다양한 서비스에 적용하며 자사 직원들은 물론 소비자들의 디지털 경험을 혁신할 수 있도록 지원할 것”이라고 밝혔다.
