[서울=뉴시스] 박대로 기자 = 서울시의회 의원들이 시청역 역주행 사고에 안타까움을 표하며 사고 원인을 규명하고 대책을 마련하겠다고 밝혔다.

3일 서울시의회에 따르면 시의회 국민의힘 의원들은 전날 오후 사고 현장을 찾아 고인에 대한 묵념을 하고 헌화했다.

국민의힘은 성명에서 "우리 서울시 가족 중에서도 두 분의 희생자가 발생했다.더욱 비통함을 감출 수가 없다"며 "한 가정의 사랑받는 가족으로 각자의 자리에서 최선을 다했을 희생자들의 명복을 빈다"고 밝혔다.

그러면서 "서울시의회 국민의힘은 희생자들과 소중한 가족을 잃은 유가족들의 슬픔을 함께하고 시민 안전을 위한 역할과 책임을 통감하며 주변을 더욱 주의 깊게 살피겠다"고 말했다.

야당인 더불어민주당도 같은 날 논평에서 "서울시의회 더불어민주당은 안타까운 이번 사고 앞에 비통한 마음을 감출 수가 없다"며 "원활한 사고 수습과 명확한 사고 원인 규명을 위해 노력하겠다"고 밝혔다.

이어 "시민의 생명과 삶을 지키는 일이 서울시의회 더불어민주당의 본분임을 되새기며 다시 한 번 피해자 분들의 영면을 기원한다"고 덧붙였다.
