문화체육관광부에 이어 체육계 비리 조사 기구인 스포츠윤리센터도 대한축구협회의 홍명보 축구 국가대표팀 감독 선임 과정에 대한 의혹 등을 조사한다.

16일 연합뉴스에 따르면 스포츠윤리센터 관계자는 "축협의 홍 감독 선임 과정과 관련된 신고가 접수됐다"며 "구체적인 내용은 확인해줄 수 없지만 현재 조사가 진행 중"이라고 밝혔다.

전날 문체부가 "축구협회의 자율성을 존중해 언론에 기사가 나와도 지켜봤지만 이제 한계에 다다랐다는 생각"이라며 "감독 선임 과정에 하자가 없는지 들여다보겠다"고 밝힌 데 이어 스포츠 비리 신고 처리 기관인 스포츠윤리센터도 홍 감독 내정 과정을 들여다본다.

국민체육진흥법에 따르면 스포츠윤리센터는 체육계 인권침해 및 스포츠비리에 해당하는 위법 또는 부당한 사항이 발생했다고 인정할 때 당사자나 관계기관에 대해 직권으로 조사할 수 있다.

이에 따라 스포츠윤리센터는 대표팀 감독 선임 과정에서 권한 남용,월드컵 4.5장절차적 하자 등 모든 가능성을 열어두고 조사에 나설 계획이다.

한편 이번 사태와 관련해 시민단체 서민민생대책위원회는 정몽규 협회장을 업무방해,월드컵 4.5장업무상 배임,월드컵 4.5장협박 혐의로 경찰에 고발한 상태다.

서민위는 고발장에서 "수많은 반대 의견에도 불구하고 이사회 서면결의를 통해 홍 감독을 선임한 것은 위력에 의한 업무방해이며 홍 감독의 연봉을 제대로 상의하지 않은 상태로 결정한 것은 업무상 배임에 해당한다"고 주장했다.
