고위공직자범죄수사처(공수처) 신임 차장에 검찰 출신인 이재승 변호사(사법연수원 30기)가 내정된 것으로 알려졌다.

9일 법조계에 따르면 오동운 공수처장은 이르면 오는 10일 차장 후보자로 이 변호사를 인사혁신처에 임명 제청할 예정이다.공수처 차장은 10년 경력 이상 법조인 중 처장의 제청으로 대통령이 임명한다.임기는 처장과 동일한 3년이다.

이 변호사는 사법연수원 30기로 서울대학교 법과대학을 졸업한 후 2004년 인천지검에서 검사 생활을 시작했다.이후 춘천지검 강릉지청과 서울중앙지검 등을 거쳐 부산지검에서 부부장검사를 지냈다.2019년 서울서부지검 부장검사를 끝으로 검사 생활을 마친 뒤 2020년 10월부터는 법무법인 지평에서 변호사로 일해왔다.

이 변호사가 임명될 경우 공수처는 지난 5월21일 오동운 신임 처장 임명 이후 공석이던 차장 자리를 채우게 된다.

공수처는 차기 대변인으로 김백기 전 JTBC 사회부장을 임명할 예정인 것으로 알려졌다.
