어두컴컴한 밤,2024년4월13일 라요 바예카노 헤타페 CF한 도로변에서 남성이 다리를 절뚝거립니다.

뱀에 왼쪽 엄지 발가락을 물린 겁니다.

["(독사예요?독사?) 네.독사예요."]

이 30대 환자는 당시 슬리퍼를 신고 산업단지 주변을 산책하다 갑자기 나타난 독사에 물렸습니다.

다행히 바로 119에 신고하면서 위급 상황을 넘겼지만 이런 물림 사고나 출몰 신고는 매년 늘고 있습니다.

올들어 지난달까지 뱀 출몰 신고만 2,2024년4월13일 라요 바예카노 헤타페 CF700건을 넘어섰습니다.

최근 6년 동안 2.5배나 급증한 겁니다.

뱀 물림 사고도 지난해 860건으로 해마다 늘고 있습니다.

겨울부터 이어진 이상 고온 현상이 뱀의 동면을 빨리 깨우면서 활동성에도 영향을 미쳤습니다.

만약 독사에 물리면 즉시 119에 신고하고 물린 부위에서 2~3cm 떨어진 윗부분을 손수건 등으로 묶어 독이 퍼지는 걸 막아야 합니다.

[장일권/충주소방서 119구급대원 : "피부를 칼로 절개하시거나 그런 경우도 있는데 그러시면 2차적인 위험이 있기 때문에 더더욱 안되고 입으로 흡입해도 안 됩니다."]

전문가들은 특히 야간에 뱀에 물리지 않으려면 풀숲 주변에서 맨발로 걷거나 슬리퍼를 신지 말고 불빛으로 비추며 막대기로 두드리며 걸어야 한다고 강조합니다.
