경기 성남시 성호시장 재개발구역 내에서 건물 철거 중 붕괴 사고가 발생해 40대 남성 1명이 숨졌다.

16일 소방당국에 따르면 이날 오후 2시 40분쯤 수정구 신흥동 성호시장 내 재건축 철거 현장에서 건물 구조물이 붕괴돼 작업자 A씨(41)가 매몰됐다는 신고가 접수됐다.

A씨는 단층 건물 철거 작업 전 내·외부 쓰레기를 청소하던 중 일부 벽면이 무너지면서 매몰된 것으로 파악됐다.당시 근로자 5명과 굴착기 2대를 사용해 작업 중이었으나,코파 이탈리아 경기붕괴 당시 A씨만 건물 내부에 있었고 나머지 근로자 4명은 외부에 있었다.

소방당국은 굴착기 2대를 이용해 콘크리트 상판을 제거하는 등 인원 45명,중장비 14대를 동원해 구조 작업을 벌였다.

이후 사고 발생 2시간 만인 오후 4시 40분,코파 이탈리아 경기A씨를 구조했으나 사망 판정이 내려졌다.

경찰은 자세한 사고 경위를 조사할 방침이다.
