[서울=뉴시스] 최윤서 인턴 기자 = 한국계 유튜버가 미국 캘리포니아 사막에서 당국 허가 없이 람보르기니를 향해 폭죽을 쏘는 스턴트 영상을 제작해 연방검찰에 기소됐다.

6일(현지시각) 뉴욕포스트,전국대학 야구LA타임스 등 외신은 캘리포니아 샌 페르난도 밸리 출신 구독자 약 92만명을 보유한 유튜버 알렉스 최(한국명 최석민)가 항공기에 폭발물 등을 설치한 혐의로 연방당국에 체포됐다고 보도했다.

보도에 따르면 그는 지난해 7월 캘리포니아주 모하비 사막에서‘폭죽으로 람보르기니 파괴하기’(Destroying a Lamborghini with Fireworks)라는 제목의 영상을 촬영해 자신의 유튜브 채널에 게시했다.

당시 촬영된 11분가량의 스턴트 영상에는 비행 중인 헬리콥터에서 빠른 속도로 질주하는 람보르기니를 향해 연속으로 폭죽을 쏘는 장면이 담겼다.현재 해당 영상은 최씨의 유튜브 채널에서 삭제됐다.

현지 사법당국은 유튜버 최씨가 이 스턴트 영상 촬영에 대해 사전에 연방항공청(FAA) 등 관계 기관의 승인을 구하거나 얻지 않았으며,전국대학 야구주류·담배·화기·폭발물 관리국(ATF)으로부터 적절한 폭발물 면허를 취득하지도 않았다고 밝혔다.

최씨는 5일(현지시각) 경찰에 체포돼 향후 몇 주간 로스엔젤레스 법원에서 재판 받을 예정이다.유죄가 확정되면 최대 10년의 징역형을 받을 수 있는 것으로 알려졌다．
