교육부 "전담인력 9천100명,환경개선 교실 6천500개 준비 마쳐"원하는 초등학생은 정규수업이 끝난 이후에도 다양한 교육프로그램을 이용할 수 있는 '늘봄학교'가 2학기부터 전국 모든 초등학교 1학년생을 대상으로 확대 실시돼 약 28만명이 돌봄 혜택을 받을 수 있을 것으로 보입니다.

교육부는 어제(13일) 정부서울청사에서 브리핑을 열어 '2024년 2학기 전국 초등학교 늘봄학교 도입 준비 상황'을 발표했습니다.

1학기 전국 2천963개교에 도입됐던 늘봄학교는 2학기부터 전체 초등학교 6천185개교와 초등 과정을 운영하는 특수학교 178개교에서 운영됩니다.

학교별 2학기 수요조사 결과 전국 초1 학생 34만8천명 가운데 80.0%인 약 28만명(초등 27만8천286명·특수 1천297명)이 늘봄학교 참여를 희망했습니다.

교육부는 학교별로 필요한 프로그램과 공간을 최대한 확보해 특수학교와 일반학교에 재학 중인 장애학생을 포함한 모든 희망자는 늘봄학교에 참여할 수 있다고 설명했습니다.

질 높은 교육 활동을 위해 초1 맞춤형 3만9천118개 프로그램을 준비하며,강사도 3만5천433명 참여할 예정입니다.

학교별 늘봄 전담체계 구축을 위해 지방공무원을 순증,복권정보거래소늘봄 업무 관리자인 '늘봄지원실장'으로 배치합니다.

현직 교사 가운데 '임기제 교육연구사'를 선발해 늘봄지원실장으로 배치한 뒤 임기가 끝나면 다시 교사로 일하도록 하는 방식입니다.

7월까지 전국에서 제출한 늘봄지원실장 수요가 2천500여명인데,교육당국은 교육연구사로 전직하는 인원을 고려해 2025~2027학년도 교원 신규채용 규모를 늘립니다.

오석환 교육부 차관은 "2학기에 늘봄학교를 처음 운영하는 학교들은 일부 어려움을 겪을 수도 있겠지만,교육부와 교육청이 학교별 상황에 맞게 촘촘하게 지원해 학생·학부모가 안심하고 참여하도록 하겠다"고 밝혔습니다.
