정부가 오픈AI의 생성형 인공지능(AI) 챗GPT에 대해 현행법 위반 여부를 조사한다.

방송통신위원회는 챗GPT의 전기통신사업법 위반 여부에 대한 사실조사에 착수했다고 27일 밝혔다.

유료서비스 이용자의 이용 한도 제한과 서비스 해지 제한 행위가 조사 대상이다.사전에 이용자에게 충분히 설명하고 동의를 구했는지,설치없는 멀티 게임즉각적인 해지와 환불을 제공하는지 조사할 것으로 알려졌다.

사실조사 후 위반 행위가 확인되면 상임위 전체회의 의결을 거쳐 시정명령이나 과징금 부과 등 조치를 취할 수 있다.

과징금은 서비스 매출액을 기준으로 일정 비율로 계산할 수 있어 수백억원대 과징금이 나올 수 있다는 관측도 나온다.

방통위는 지난해 10월 인앱결제 문제로 구글에 475억원,카지노사이트 서울애플에 205억원의 과징금을 부과하겠다고 발표한 바 있다.
