지원하려면 전시계획서와 포트폴리오를 국가문화예술지원시스템(www.ncas.or.kr)를 통해 제출하면 된다.4월 중순 1차 서류심사,카타르 요르단 토토 전시계획안 프레젠테이션과 인터뷰로 구성된 2차 심사를 통해 예술감독을 선정,새로운 무료 슬롯 5월 중 발표 예정이다. 접수 인원과 심사 기간에 따라 일정은 조정될 수 있다.
한편 베니스비엔날레 조직위원회(위원장 피에트란젤로 부타푸오코)는 지난 2024년 11월 회의를 열고 남아프리카공화국 자이츠미술관의 코요 쿠오(Koyo Kouoh) 총괄 디렉터를 제61회 베니스비엔날레 국제미술전 총감독으로 선정했다.아프리카 여성이 베니스비엔날레를 이끌게 된 것은 이번이 처음이다.
