이번 올림픽·패럴림픽 기간 센강의 알렉상드르 3세 다리와 알마 다리 구간에서는 철인 3종 수영 경기와‘수영 마라톤’으로 불리는 오픈 워터 스위밍이 열린다.그러나 지난달까지도 비가 자주 내린 탓에 오·폐수가 흘러들어와 센강에서 기준치 이상의 대장균과 장구균이 검출되며 논란을 일으킨 바 있다.

유럽연합(EU)의 2006년 수질 지침에 따르면 대장균은 100mL당 최대 900CFU(미생물 집락형성단위,1116회 로또비법신서Colony-forming unit),1116회 로또비법신서장구균은 100mL당 330CFU 이하로 검출돼야 수영이 가능하다.

세계수영연맹의 수질 기준상 대장균의 최대 허용치는 100mL당 1000CFU,1116회 로또비법신서장구균은 400CFU다.

이 기준을 초과한 물에서 수영할 경우 위장염이나 결막염,1116회 로또비법신서외이염,1116회 로또비법신서피부 질환 등에 노출될 위험이 있다.

오는 17일 안 이달고 파리 시장의 수영 시범 일정도 결정됐다.이달고 시장은 센강에서 수영이 가능하다는 걸 몸소 증명하기 위해 지난달 23일 센강에 뛰어들 예정이었으나 수질 문제와 빠른 유속 때문에 일정을 연기했다.
