BMW 코리아가 수입차 업체로는 처음으로 자사 전기차에 탑재된 배터리 제조사를 공개했다.

BMW 코리아는 12일 홈페이지에 국내에서 판매중인 전기차 모델 10종의 배터리 제조사를 게시했다.앞서 인천에서 발생한 메스세데스-벤츠 전기차 화재 이후 소비자들의 불안감이 거세지자 이를 진화하려는 취지로 풀이된다.국내 대표 완성차 업체인 현대차와 기아는 지난 9일과 이날 각각 배터리 제조사 정보를 공지했다.

BMW 코리아가 공개한 정보를 보면 BMW는 전기차 모델 10종 가운데 iX1과 iX3 등 2종에만 중국 CATL 배터리를 탑재한다.나머지 △i4 △i5 △iX △i7 등 8종에는 모두 삼성SDI의 배터리를 사용했다.BMW 코리아가 가장 먼저 배터리 제조사를 공개하면서 벤츠와 폭스바겐 등 다른 수입차 업체들도 이에 동참할지 주목된다.
