이날 오후 7시45분 서울 강남소방서에 강남구 역삼동에 있는 공유형 전동킥보드에서 불이 난다는 신고가 들어왔다.

소방 당국은 차량 8대와 인력 24명을 투입해 신고 약 17분 만인 오후 8시2분께 불을 완전히 껐다.

이 불로 공유형 전동킥보드 1대가 소실돼 41만원의 재산 피해가 발생했다.

인명 피해는 없는 것으로 파악됐다.

소방 당국은 전동킥보드 리튬이온 배터리셀에서 전기적 요인으로 불이 시작됐다고 보고 정확한 화재 원인을 조사 중이다.

한편 지난달 12일 소방청에 따르면 최근 5년 간 발생한 전동킥보드 화재는 총 467건이다.지난해에는 114건이 발생했는데 2019년(46건)보다 약 2.5배 증가했다.지난해의 경우 2명이 숨지고 28명이 다쳤다.

전동킥보드 배터리 화재는 급격히 진행되기 때문에 주의가 필요하다.
