서울경찰청은 내달 31일까지 2개월간 서울 전역 내 폭주·난폭운전 등 불법행위 집중단속을 추진한다고 9일 밝혔다.

서울경찰청은 폭주행위에 대한 다양한 사전 첩보 수집 및 신고사례 분석을 통해 폭주족 출몰 예상지,이동·집결지에 순찰 및 예방활동을 강화한다.

또한 폭주·난폭운전에 대해서는 도시고속·교통순찰대·교통외근·교통범죄수사팀 등 가용 경력을 총동원해 엄정 단속한다.

현장 검거가 어려운 경우,미스테리 랜치 블랙잭철저한 채증 등을 통한 사후 추적 수사를 통해 끝까지 검거 및 형사처벌에 나설 계획이다.

중점 단속 대상으로는 ▲2대 이상의 차량이 정당한 사유 없이 앞뒤 또는 좌우로 줄지어 통행하며 교통상의 위험을 야기하는 공동위험행위 ▲신호위반 및 중앙선 침범 등을 지속 또는 반복하며 교통상 위험을 야기하는 난폭운전 ▲불법튜닝 ▲굉음 유발 ▲번호판 가림 등이 있다.

서울청은 지난 5일 강남구 도산대로 학동사거리 일대에서 서울청,미스테리 랜치 블랙잭강남경찰서,서울시,한국교통안전공단 등 24명과 암행순찰차 등 차량 10대를 투입해 불법행위 특별단속을 시행,폭주·난폭운전 2건을 포함한 총 31건을 적발한 바 있다.

강남구 도산대로 일대의 슈퍼카 등 불법행위는 집중단속 기간 중 매주 서울청 주관의 합동단속과 강남경찰서의 수시 자체 단속을 통해 강력 대응할 방침이다.

서울경찰청 관계자는 "도로 위 평온을 파괴하는 폭주행위 및 난폭운전은 명백한 범죄행위"라며 "'폭주행위는 반드시 처벌된다'는 인식을 가질 수 있도록 폭주·난폭운전 행위는 적극 수사해 엄정 대응할 것"이라고 말했다．
