국토교통부와 국가철도공단은 GTX-A 동탄-수서 구간 개통에서 빠졌던 구성역이 이달 29일 오전 5시30분 동탄에서 출발하는 열차부터 운행을 시작한다고 28일 밝혔다.

이에 따라 수서·성남·구성·동탄을 잇는 수서-동탄 구간에 빠졌던 빈 퍼즐이 완성되게 된다.

앞서 지난 3월30일 GTX시대를 개막한 수서~동탄 구간 4개 역 중 구성역을 제외한 수서·성남·동탄역 3개 구간만 개통됐다.

GTX-A 수서-동탄 구간에서 구성역이 제외된 것은 깊이 40m의 지하 공간 굴착 과정에서 예상치 못한 암반이 발견되면서 당초 계획보다 공사가 지연돼 개통 시기가 6월로 늦춰졌다.

이에 철도공단은 구성역의 토목·건축공사를 마무리하고,열차운행 안전성 및 이용자 편의성 검증을 위한 종합시험운행 및 이용자 사전점검을 완료하는 등 개통을 위한 만반의 준비를 갖췄다고 설명했다.

또 GTX-A 구성역은 수인분당선(청량리~인천) 구성역과 지하 연결 통로로 환승되며,카지노 미션수도권 통합환승할인이 적용된다.

GTX-A 노선은 파주시 운정역과 화성시 동탄역을 연결하는 총연장 83.1㎞로,파주 운정-서울역(6개역,카지노 미션48.2㎞) 구간은 올해 말 개통될 예정이다.이중 삼성역을 제외한 서울역~수서 구간은 2026년,카지노 미션삼성역을 포함한 전 구간은 2028년 개통될 것으로 전망된다．
