3건의 폭행사건 휘말려…헬스장 등 운영해 겸직금지 위반도

(청주=연합뉴스) 이성민 기자 = 청주 상당경찰서는 시민들에게 폭행을 일삼은 혐의로 상당구 모 지구대 A(41) 경사에 대해 해임 처분을 내렸다고 4일 밝혔다.

A 경사는 지난 4월 28일 오전 1시 10분께 분평동에서 요금 시비가 붙은 택시 기사를 폭행한 혐의를 받는다.

A 경사는 이미 지난해 10월 자신이 운영하는 용암동의 한 헬스장에서 자신과 말다툼을 벌이던 트레이너와 이를 말리던 회원을 폭행했다가 벌금 100만원을 선고받고 직위해제 된 상태였다.이보다 앞선 2022년 2월에도 지인을 폭행했다가 입건된 바 있다.

그는 헬스장과 요가강습 센터 등 총 3곳의 체육 시설을 운영하는 등 국가공무원법상 겸직 금지 의무를 위반한 혐의도 받고 있다.

청주상당경찰서 측은 A 경사가 잇단 폭행 사건에 휘말리며 경찰의 품위를 손상시키자 이같은 결정을 내린 것으로 알려졌다.
