스튜디오원픽은 지난 11일 웹소설 플랫폼 노벨피아 운영사인 메아크래프트,테크 스타트업 동주와 웹툰 제작을 위한 업무협약(MOU)을 체결했다고 13일 밝혔다.

노벨피아는 판타지·무협·로맨스·공포·SF 등 다양한 장르의 웹소설·웹툰 IP를 보유 중이다.동주는 웹툰 작가 팀 빌딩(team building) 및 제작을 지원하는 '올 인 원(all in one)' 솔루션을 자체 개발해 산하의 웹툰 제작 스튜디오 스피노프에 도입하고 있다.

스튜디오원픽은 일본 디지털만화 플랫폼 픽코마를 운영하는 카카오픽코마의 100% 자회사다.'용사 파티 때려치웁니다','다크 판타지의 망캐가 되었다' 등 노블코믹스를 제작해 한국과 일본 플랫폼에 서비스하고 있다.

이번 협약에 따라 3사는 각각 보유한 기획력과 지적재산(IP),제작 지원 솔루션을 합쳐 웹툰을 만들게 된다.북미,유럽 등 해외 독자들의 입맛에 맞는 새로운 웹툰을 선보인다는 계획이다.첫 번째 작품으로 노벨피아에서 서비스 중인 '전지적 1인칭 시점'(작가 고속도루)을 원작으로 한 웹툰이 제작 중이다.

김현주 스튜디오원픽 대표는 "이번 업무협약은 각기 다른 강점을 보유한 3개사가 시너지를 발휘해 다채로운 매력의 참신한 작품을 선보이기 위한 첫 걸음"이라며 "그동안 웹소설 원작의 웹툰을 한국,일본에서 발표한 다수의 경험을 토대로 프로젝트에 적극 임하겠다"고 밝혔다.
