(도쿄=연합뉴스) 박상현 특파원 = 일본 도쿄전력은 후쿠시마 제1원자력발전소 오염수(일본 정부 명칭 '처리수') 7차 해양 방류를 오는 28일 개시한다고 26일 밝혔다.

교도통신에 따르면 7차 방류는 내달 16일까지 진행되며 방류량은 종전 회차와 동일한 7천800t이다.

도쿄전력은 측정·확인용 탱크들에서 시료를 채취해 분석한 결과 삼중수소(트리튬) 등 방사성 물질 농도가 기준치를 충족했다고 설명했다.

앞서 도쿄전력은 작년 8월 오염수 해양 방류를 시작했고 그동안 6회에 걸쳐 총 4만7천t가량의 오염수를 후쿠시마 원전 앞바다에 내보냈다.

도쿄전력은 2024년도(2024년 4월∼2025년 3월)에 모두 7차례에 걸쳐 오염수 약 5만4천600t을 처분할 계획이다.2023년도에는 4회에 걸쳐 방류를 실시했다.

도쿄전력은 2011년 후쿠시마 원전 사고 이후 발생하는 오염된 물 중 일부를 다핵종제거설비(ALPS)로 처리한 뒤 탱크에 저장해 두고 있다.

후쿠시마 제1원전에 보관 중인 오염수는 총 131만6천여t이다.
