농축산물을 전문으로 판매하는 마트에서 비계 삼겹살을 판매했다는 주장이 제기돼 논란이 일고 있습니다.

오늘(4일) 인천 모 구청에 따르면 40대 A 씨는 지난 2일 오후 집 근처 마트에서 삼겹살을 구매했지만 비계가 과도하게 많았다며 구청에 민원을 제기했습니다.

A 씨는 언론 통화에서 "아내가 마트에서 삼겹살을 구매했는데 저녁에 보니 대부분 비곗덩어리였다"며 "밥도 제대로 못 먹고 마트에 환불하러 갔다"고 주장했습니다.

A 씨가 공개한 사진에 따르면 4줄로 보이는 삼겹살에는 눈으로 보기에 비계가 대부분을 차지했습니다.

가격은 100g당 2천650원으로,A 씨 아내는 삼겹살 624g을 쿠폰 할인을 받아 1만 4천650원에 구매했습니다.

해당 마트 측은 "본사 지침에 맞춰 품질을 관리하는 데 이런 논란이 생겨 송구하다"며 "고객에게 환불 방침을 전달해 드렸고,무료 야생 생활 슬롯사실관계 파악과 함께 앞으로 지방 제거 등 축산물 관리에 신경 쓰겠다"고 말했습니다.

담당 구청 공무원은 전날 매장을 방문해 진열된 삼겹살 상태를 확인하는 등 점검에 나섰습니다.

정부는 지난해 6월에 이어 올해 초에도 '삼겹살 품질관리 매뉴얼'을 발표했지만,비계 삼겹살 논란은 끊이지 않고 있습니다.

앞서 지난 4월에는 제주 흑돼지고기 음식점에서 비계 삼겹살을 판매했다가 비난 여론이 일어 가게 사장이 직접 사과에 나섰습니다.

또 지난해 12월에는 인천 모 구청과 협약을 맺은 업체가 고향사랑기부제 답례품으로 비계가 다량 섞인 삼겹살·목살 한돈 세트를 발송했다가 논란을 빚기도 했습니다.
