(안양=연합뉴스) 이우성 기자 = 경기 안양시의회가 안양시 관련 공공기관이 관리하는 시설과 장소에서 욱일기 등 일본 제국주의 상징물을 사용할 수 없게 하는 조례 제정을 추진하고 있다.

안양시의회는 김도현 더불어민주당 의원이 오는 10일 개회하는 제293회 정례회 안건으로 '안양시 일본 제국주의 상징물의 공공사용 금지 조례안'을 대표로 발의했다고 7일 밝혔다.

조례안은 안양시와 시 직속기관,범죄도시 카지노사업소,범죄도시 카지노하부 행정기관,범죄도시 카지노시 보조금 사업을 수행하는 사업자가 관리하는 시설 및 장소에서 일제 상징물 사용을 제한하는 것에 관해 규정했다.

조례안은 정례회 회기 내 소관 상임위원회인 총무경제위원회 심사를 거쳐 본회의 안건으로 상정될 예정이다.

해당 조례가 제정되면 욱일기로 대표되는 일제 상징물의 공공사용 제한을 규정한 도내 기초자치단체 조례는 부천,범죄도시 카지노하남,범죄도시 카지노고양에 이어 4번째가 된다.

김 의원은 "아직도 3·1절,범죄도시 카지노광복절만 되면 반복되는 욱일기 논란은 역사 왜곡과 항일 독립운동에 대한 폄훼로 이어지고 있다"며 "올바른 역사 인식 확립과 민족정기 선양을 위해 일제 상징물 공공사용 금지 조례가 필요하다"고 말했다.
