유네스코의 자문기구인 국제기념물유적협의회(ICOMOS·이코모스)가 일제강점기 조선인 강제노역 현장인 사도광산의 유네스코 세계유산 등재와 관련해 '보류'를 권고했다고 일본 문화청이 6일 발표했다.

보류는 일부 미비한 자료가 있어 추가 자료 제출을 요구하는 것으로 자료를 보완하면 당해 또는 다음 연도에 열리는 회의에서 등재될 가능성이 높다.

문화청은 이코모스가 보류를 권고하면서 추가 자료를 제출해 달라고 요구했다고 덧붙였다.

각계 전문가로 구성된 이코모스는 등재 심사 대상에 대해 서류심사와 현장실사 등을 거쳐 등재 권고,온라인 바카라 놀이터보류,반려,온라인 바카라 놀이터등재 불가 등 4가지 권고안 중 하나를 결정한다.

이코모스 권고내용은 오는 7월 말 인도 뉴델리에서 열리는 유네스코 세계유산위원회 회의에서 회원국들이 사도광산의 세계유산 최종 등재 여부를 판단할 때 중요한 근거로 활용된다.

사도광산은 에도시대에는 금광으로 유명했으나 태평양전쟁이 본격화한 후에는 구리,철,아연 등 전쟁 물자를 확보하는 광산으로 주로 이용됐다.일본 정부는 사도광산 세계유산 등재를 추진하면서 유산의 대상 기간을 16∼19세기 중반으로 한정해 조선인 강제노역을 의도적으로 배제했다고 비판받고 있다.
