(베를린=연합뉴스) 김계연 특파원 = 서방 18개국이 참여해 공동으로 구매한 탄약 1차 선적분이 우크라이나에 도착했다고 페트르 피알라 체코 총리가 25일(현지시간) 밝혔다.

피알라 총리는 엑스(X·옛 트위터)에서 "우리 이니셔티브의 첫 선적 분량이 얼마 전 우크라이나에 도착했다.우리는 할 일을 하고 있다"고 말했다.

체코는 전쟁 장기화로 유럽 각국의 탄약 재고가 떨어지고 생산역량도 수요를 따라잡지 못하자 유럽 역외에서 구매해 우크라이나를 지원하기로 하고 지난 2월부터 자금을 모았다.

지난달 말 기준 18개국이 참여 의사를 밝혀 1단계로 포탄 50만발을 구매할 17억유로(약 2조5천억원)를 모금했다.체코는 우크라이나가 6월 중 최대 10만발의 155㎜ 포탄을 받을 것이라고 밝힌 바 있다.

체코 정부의 토마시 코페치니 우크라이나 재건 특사는 '균형'을 맞추려면 앞으로 2년간 매달 20만발의 탄약이 필요하고 연간 70억∼100억유로(약 10조4천억∼14조9천억원)가 든다며 기부를 독려하고 있다.

북한은 러시아에 지난해 8월부터 올해 1월까지 7만4천t 이상의 폭발물을 보냈고 이는 포탄 약 160만발에 해당하는 규모라고 미국 워싱턴포스트(WP)가 지난 22일 보도했다.
