내년 최저임금을 결정하기 위한 최저임금위원회 논의가 오늘(9일)부터 본격적으로 시작됩니다.

이날 정부세종청사에서 열릴 9차 전원회의에서는 내년 최저임금에 대한 경영계와 노동계의 최초 요구안이 제시될 예정입니다.

올해 최저임금은 시간당 9천860원입니다.

내년엔 처음으로 1만원을 돌파할지가 관심사인 가운데 노사의 최초 요구안 격차가 상당할 것으로 예상됩니다.

근로자위원들은 고물가와 실질임금 하락 등을 고려한 최저임금의 대폭 인상을 요구하고 있습니다.

최초 요구안으로는 올해보다 27%가량 오른 1만2천500원 안팎을 제시할 것으로 예상되는데,마카오 밤문화한국노총과 민주노총 간 논의에 따라 추가로 조정될 여지도 있습니다.

사용자위원들은 영세중소기업과 소상공인의 경영난에 따른 지불능력 약화를 고려해 '동결'을 요구할 전망입니다.

이후 양측은 치열한 공방을 거쳐 여러 차례 수정안을 제시하며 간격을 좁히는 작업에 들어갑니다.

정부가 내년 최저임금을 확정해 8월 5일까지 고시해야 합니다.
