MZ세대를 겨냥해 건설 현장 작업복도 진화하고 있다.

15일 현대건설에 따르면 이 회사는 최근 고기능성 소재와 깔끔한 디자인을 앞세운 코오롱인더스트리FnC의 워크웨어 브랜드 '볼디스트'와 협업해 'MA-1 패딩 점퍼'를 선보였다.

야외 활동이 많은 현장 근무자가 겨울철에 보통 작업용 점퍼를 덧입는다는 점에 착안한 것으로,미 공군 파일럿이 입는 'MA-1 점퍼'를 모티브로 삼았다.

여기에 고기능성 패딩 충전재를 사용해 보온성을 높이고 공구를 수납할 수 있도록 포켓도 10개 만들었다.

현대건설은 기존에는 회사 기업이미지(CI)가 큼지막하게 부각된 단체복 스타일의 점퍼를 지급해왔는데,이번에 제작한 점퍼에는 안쪽 깃이나 지퍼에만 현대건설 CI가 활용됐다고 설명했다.

'작업복 같지 않은 작업복'에 대한 반응은 뜨거웠다.

현대건설은 점퍼 구입 신청 기간 10일 동안 사내에서 이 점퍼가 6천장 가까이 판매됐고,국내외 건설 현장 148곳에서도 단체주문이 들어왔다고 밝혔다.

현대건설 관계자는 "젊은이들 사이에서 유행하는 항공 점퍼 디자인을 단조로운 근무복에 차용해 '힙하게 일한다'는 콘셉트를 적용한 게 임직원에게 좋은 반응을 끌어낸 것 같다"고 말했다.

앞서 현대건설은 스트리트 캐주얼 브랜드 '커버낫'(COVERNAT)과 후드 집업을 만들고,트리플 카지노아웃도어 브랜드 '헬리녹스','날진'과 캠핑용품을 개발해 임직원 한정 판매를 하기도 했다.
