아주대의대 교수들이 내일(18일)로 예정된 의료계 전면 휴진에 단체 행동이 아닌 개별적 판단에 따라 참여 여부를 결정하기로 했습니다.

아주대의대 교수협의회 비상대책위원회(이하 비대위)는 오늘(17일) 오후 6시쯤 아주대병원 대강당에서 전체 교수회의를 열고 이같이 결정했다고 밝혔습니다.

앞서 비대위는 지난 10∼12일 소속 교수 400여 명을 대상으로 오는 18일 대한의사협회(의협)의 전면 휴진에 동참할 의향이 있는지 설문조사를 벌인 결과 응답자 203명 중 약 56%인 114명이 휴진 참여 의사를 표했다고 밝힌 바 있습니다.

의협과 전국의과대학교수협의회가 휴진 등을 결의한 데 대한 지지 여부를 묻는 문항에선 응답자의 85%인 173명이 지지를 밝혔다고도 했습니다.

하지만 교수들이 집단행동까지는 하지 않기로 하면서 이 병원에서 특정 진료과 전체가 휴진하는 등의 큰 혼란은 빚어지지 않을 전망입니다.

비대위 측은 "설문조사 진행이 워낙 촉박하게 이뤄진 만큼 단체 휴진까지 결의하진 않기로 했다"며 "개별적으로 참석하기로 한 만큼 예상 참석 규모를 따로 집계하진 않았다"고 설명했습니다.
