(서울=연합뉴스) 김예나 기자 = 국립문화유산연구원은 매장유산 조사기관을 위한 '도시유적 지리정보체계(GIS)' 서비스를 운영한다고 10일 밝혔다.

GIS는 각 지역에서 수집한 지리 정보를 수치화해 컴퓨터에 입력한 뒤,대상의 정확한 위치를 표현하거나 필요한 정보를 분석해 제공하는 서비스를 일컫는다.

도시유적 GIS 서비스를 활용하면 경주·부여·공주·익산 등 고도(古都) 4곳의 유적 2천243건과 유구 2만7천385건과 관련한 정보를 디지털 지도를 통해 볼 수 있다.

연구원 관계자는 "기존에는 현장 조사를 할 때마다 국토교통부,러시아 월드컵 다시보기국가기록원 등에서 제공하는 정보를 수집·분석하는 데 2∼3일 걸렸으나 앞으로는 30분 이내로 줄어들 수 있다"고 설명했다.

연구원은 도시유적 GIS와 연계해 문화유산 현장과 관련한 조사 정보를 기록하거나 현장 사진,참고 자료 등을 편집·관리할 수 있는 '현장 조사 맵(Map)' 서비스도 함께 운영할 예정이다.

연구원은 올해 말까지 2011년 이전에 조사를 마친 유적 1천여 건의 정보를 추가할 계획이다.

서비스는 매장유산 조사연구·교육 기관을 대상으로 운영하며 누리집(https://www.nrich.go.kr)에서 신청한 뒤 계정을 발급받아 이용할 수 있다.
