과학기술정보통신부 우정사업본부(본부장 조해근)는 수취인의 거주지가 변경된 경우 우체국 창구와 인터넷우체국에서 '주거이전 우편물 전송서비스'를 시행,국민 편의를 높이고 있다고 8일 밝혔다.

우정사업본부에 따르면 이 서비스는 이전 주소지로 발송된 편지 등 우편물을 새로운 거주지로 전송해 주는 것으로,프로야구 5월 일정표빈번한 거주지 이전에 따른 우편물 전달의 정확도를 높이고 있다.

신청 방법은 우체국 창구와 인터넷우체국에서 증빙서류를 제출해야 한다.개별 세대원뿐만 아니라 세대원 전체에 대해 신청이 가능하다.

전송 주소지가 동일권역인 경우 개인과 단체 모두 3개월간 무료로 서비스를 이용할 수 있다.서비스 연장 시 개인은 4000원,단체는 5만 3000원의 수수료가 발생한다.타권역으로 신청 시 개인은 3개월까지 7000원,연장 시 7000원을 추가 해야하며,프로야구 5월 일정표단체는 7만 원을 부담해야 한다.동일권역과 타권역 모두 3개월 단위로 연장할 수 있다.

조해근 우정사업본부장은 "주거이전 우편물 전송서비스를 이용하면 이전 주소지로 우편물이 보내지는 걸 미연에 방지하고 소중한 개인정보를 보호할 수 있을 것"이라며 "우체국은 국민이 공감하고 꼭 필요한 서비스를 지속해서 제공할 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다"고 말했다.

한편 주거이전 우편물 전송서비스는 가까운 읍‧면‧동 주민센터를 방문하거나,프로야구 5월 일정표정부24 홈페이지에서 온라인으로도 신청할 수 있다.
