2022년 8월 수사 도중 피해자가 극단적인 선택을 하면서 수사의 어려움이 있었지만,검찰은 피해자의 휴대전화와 다이어리를 분석하는 등 전면 재수사에 나서 피해자 차량 블랙박스 영상,의무기록,상담일지 등을 통해 범죄사실을 밝혀냈다.

A씨는 피해자가 숨지자 성폭행 범행을 숨기려고 허위 사실을 퍼뜨리는 등 피해자와 피해자 아버지의 명예를 훼손하는 등 2차 가해도 저질렀다고 검찰은 설명했다.

검찰 관계자는 “피해자 가족들의 심리 치료와 주거환경 개선,킨볼 아시안컵생계비 등을 적극적으로 지원하고 있다”며 “사회적 약자에 대한 성폭력 범죄,킨볼 아시안컵2차 가해 행위 등에 엄정하게 대응하겠다”고 말했다.
