당시 박세리는 "14세 때 아빠 때문에 골프를 처음 시작했다.아빠는 제 첫 번째 코치"라며 "아빠 덕분에 모든 걸 헤쳐 나갈 수 있었다.이 자리에 온 것도 아빠 덕분"이라고 고마움을 표현하기도 했다.
