[헤럴드경제=박병국 기자]GS리테일이 운영하는 편의점 GS25는 해양 환경보호를 위한 캠페인‘우리 바다 푸르게 X 쓰담쓰담’을 시작했다고 12일 밝혔다.

GS25는 지난 11일 서울 역삼동 GS타워 광장에서‘우리 바다 푸르게 X 쓰담쓰담’발대식을 진행했다.발대식에는 정재형 GS리테일 편의점사업부 대표 및 임직원들이 참석했다.캠페인은 남해안 해수욕장 8곳과,제주시,담양군과 함께 진행한다.

GS25는 이번 캠페인을 통해 해변에 있는 매장 앞에서 휴대용 재떨이를 무상으로 증정한다.행사는 28일까지 총 9회에 걸쳐 열린다.GS25속초장수점(18일),GS25인구해변점(19일),중국 축구 중계GS25경포월점(20일),GS25삼척해변점(21일),중국 축구 중계GS25송정해수욕장점(25일),GS25광안해변점(26일),GS25해운후레쉬점(27일),중국 축구 중계GS25송정프리미엄점(28일) 등에서 행사가 진행된다.

환경연합이 지난 2020년 전국 14개 해안가에서 수거한 쓰레기 분석한 결과,중국 축구 중계해안 쓰레기 중 1위는 담배꽁초(16%)였다.이 담배꽁초는 90% 이상이 플라스틱으로 만들어져 바다로 떠내려갈 경우 미세플라스틱으로 분해된다.
