7일 모바일인덱스에 따르면 티빙의 지난달 6월 MAU(앱월간이용자수)는 740만 명으로 추정된다.이는 전년 동기(574만 명) 대비 28.9% 증가한 수치로 역대 최다다.

같은 기간 넷플릭스의 월간 사용자수는 1042만명으로 집계됐다.지난해 12월 대비로는 15.4%,월드컵경기장 돔전년 동기 대비로는 7.9% 감소했다.티빙과의 격차 역시 390만 명으로 줄었는데,월드컵경기장 돔이는 역대 티빙과 넷플릭스 사용자 격차 중 최소다.

티빙의 상승세는 KBO 독점 중계 효과가 컸다는 분석이다.티빙은 올해부터 3년간 연평균 450억원에 KBO 리그 유무선 중계권을 독점 확보해 지난 3월부터 'KBO 리그' 생중계를 시작했다.

상반기 최대 화제작 '눈물의 여왕'과 '선재 업고 튀어'도 큰 인기를 끌며 사용자 유입을 주도했다.

티빙 관계자는 "프로야구의 경우 일주일 중 6일이나 이용자들이 들어오기에 효과가 크다.동시에 오리지널 콘텐츠나 수급작들도 흥행하면서 시너지 효과가 난 것 같다"고 말했다.
