대구시가 오늘부터 동대구역 광장을 박정희광장으로 부르기로 하고,다파벳 무료 베팅 예측표지판 제막식을 열었는데요.

시민사회 단체와 야당은 홍준표 시장의 대권가도를 위한 반역사적인 행위라고 반발했습니다.

홍준표 대구시장은 동대구역 광장을 '박정희광장'으로 명명한다고 밝혔습니다.

[홍준표/대구시장 : "박정희 대통령의 산업화 정신을 기리기 위해서 대구의 관문인 동대구역 광장을 '박정희 광장'으로 명명하고 그 의미를 되새기고자…."]

박 전 대통령 기념사업을 지지하는 시민들은 즉각 환영했습니다.

[김오영/대구시 동구새마을회 회장 : "못 살던 보릿고개 시절을 잘 먹고 잘 살 수 있도록 해준 게 박정희 전 대통령님의 새마을운동으로부터 시작됐기 때문에…."]

반면 5개 야당과 시민단체들은 박 전 대통령이 친일과 독재의 상징이라며 광복절 직전 제막식을 연 것은 반역사적인 행위라고 반발했습니다.

[남춘미/범시민운동본부 공동대표 : "박정희의 이름을 동대구역 광장의 이름으로 명명하는 표지판 제막식을 개최하는 것은 극우 세력에게 충성하여 다시 한번 대권 후보 자리를 넘보는 전략인가."]

광장 명칭 변경 과정에서 여론 수렴 등을 제대로 거치지 않았다는 지적도 나왔습니다.

대구시는 내년까지 동대구역 광장과 대구대표도서관에 박정희 전 대통령 동상을 설치할 예정이어서 논란은 더 커질 전망입니다.
