(서울=뉴스1) 배지윤 기자 = BMW 그룹 코리아가 수입차 업체로 유일하게 부산모빌리티쇼에 참가하는 등 국내 소비자들과의 소통에 적극 나서고 있다.

28일 업계에 따르면 BMW 그룹 코리아는 이날 개막한 '2024 부산모빌리티쇼'에 수입차 업체 가운데 유일하게 참가했다.

BMW 그룹 코리아는 부산모빌리티쇼(옛 부산모터쇼)가 처음 열린 2001년부터 현재까지 2010년 한차례를 제외하고 모두 참가했다.직접적인 경제적 효과를 따지기보다 소비자 접점 확대를 위해 국내 모빌리티쇼에 참가하고 있다는 게 회사 측 설명이다.

아울러 BMW 그룹 코리아는 적극적인 소비자 중심형 커뮤니케이션 활동을 펼치고 있다.2014년 7월 인천 영종도에 문을 연 BMW 드라이빙 센터 'BMW 드라이빙 센터'가 대표적이다.BMW 드라이빙 센터는 트랙과 고객 체험 시설이 모여있는 국내 유일의 자동차 복합문화공간이다.

지난 5월 기준 BMW 드라이빙 센터를 찾은 방문객은 총 150만명을 넘어섰으며,무한도전 룰렛이 중 드라이빙 프로그램 참여 고객 또한 약 24만명에 육박한다.

국내 시설 투자 측면에서도 선도적인 모습을 보인다.지난 4월 인천 청라국제도시로 확장 이전해 개관한 'BMW 그룹 R&D 센터 코리아'는 BMW 그룹 내에서 전 세계 5번째로 설립된 연구개발 시설이다.이를 통해 철저한 현지화로 국내에 최적화된 차량을 선보이고 있다.

아울러 2022년 영종도 BMW 드라이빙 센터에 전기차 80대가 동시 충전할 수 있는 'BMW 차징 스테이션'을 설치하는 등 인프라 확충에 나서고 있으며 현재 전국에 1300기의 충전기를 보유 중이다.

BMW 그룹 코리아 관계자는 "향후에도 국내 소비자와 더욱 활발하게 소통하고 편의성을 증진할 수 있는 다양한 노력을 이어 나가며 글로벌 프리미엄 브랜드로서 책임을 다하겠다"고 말했다.
