"P.CoK 저작권 침해 대응 활동 공인…불법물 단속 범위 확대"

카카오엔터테인먼트 불법물 삭제 건수(2019년~년2023)

(서울=뉴스1) 김민석 기자 = 카카오엔터테인먼트는 국내 엔터테인먼트 기업 최초로 '구글 TCRP'(Trusted Copyright Removal Program) 공식 파트너사로 선정됐다고 16일 밝혔다.

TCRP는 IP(지식재산권) 보호 프로그램이다.구글은 양질의 불법유통 데이터를 공급한 기업에 TCRP 파트너 자격을 부여한다.파트너사 수는 전 세계 약 200개로 알려졌다.

카카오엔터테인먼트는 웹툰·웹소설 업계 최초로 불법 유통을 근절하는 글로벌 불법유통대응팀 P.CoK(피콕·Protecting the Content of Kakao Entertainment)을 구축했다.반기별 불법유통 대응 백서를 발간해 저작권 침해 대응 노하우를 업계에 공유했다.

카카오엔터테인먼트 관계자는 "불법 유통 대응 시스템을 구축해 2019년부터 2023년까지 약 2억 4000만 건의 글로벌 불법물을 차단하는 성과를 거뒀다"며 "구글 TCRP 선정은 피콕의 저작권 침해 대응 활동을 대외적으로 인정받았다는 의미"라고 말했다.

이어 "TCRP 선정을 계기로 글로벌 불법유통 대응 활동에 더 박차를 가하겠다"며 "웹툰·웹소설 외 자사 IP 전반에 종합적인 침해 대응 전략을 수립하고 글로벌 불법물 단속 범위를 차례로 확장할 계획"이라고 전했다.

이호준 카카오엔터테인먼트 법무실장은 "TCRP 파트너 선정을 계기로 저작물 보호 활동을 강화하고 불법유통 근절에 매진하겠다"고 했다.
