경남 진주의 한 중학교에서 2학년 학생 4명이 후배와 동급생 등 40명 이상에게 협박 및 돈을 갈취하는 등 학교폭력을 저지른 것으로 드러났다.

경남도교육청은 중학교 2학년 A군 등 일행 4명이 수개월간 후배를 갈취하고 협박하는 등 괴롭힌 사건을 전수조사했다고 3일 밝혔다.

이 결과 이 4명의 2학년 학생은 지난 3월부터 최근까지 같은 학교 1학년 후배 22명,동급생 8명,약 2.3㎞ 떨어진 인근 중학교 1학년 8명과 2학년 3명 등 총 41명으로부터 온·오프라인을 통해 돈을 받은 것으로 드러났다.

총 피해 금액은 126만6천918원 정도에 이르며,대부분 남학생인 피해 학생들은 5천∼2만원까지 1∼2차례 돈을 빼앗겼다.

당초 이 사건은 같은 학교 1학년 5명이 피해 학생으로 알려졌으나,경남도교육청의 이번 전수조사를 통해 그 피해 학생이 눈덩이처럼 불어났다.전수조사는 해당 학교 학생 870명,인근 학교 학생 976명을 대상으로 시행했다.

가해 학생들은 인스타그램 등 사회관계망서비스(SNS)를 통해 "돈이 없으면 주변에서 구해라,돈 보내지 않으면 패주겠다"고 협박했고,일부 학생에게는 성적 수치심을 유발하는 행동도 요구했다.다만,폭행 피해 사례는 현재까지 확인되지 않았다.

특히 가해 학생 중 일부는 신체에 문신도 해,피해 학생들은 겁을 먹고 협박을 이기지 못한 것으로 파악됐다.

가해 학생은 모두 형사책임을 지는 연령으로,촉법소년은 아닌 것으로 전해졌다.이들에 대한 처벌 수위는 학교폭력 대책심의위원회에서 결정한다.

한편,현재 가해 학생들은 수업은 듣지 않고,smd 마킹빈 교실에서 1명씩 교사 1명에게 지도를 받고 있다.
