한국타이어앤테크놀로지(이하 한국타이어)는 자사 재활용 제품인 업사이클 롱보드가 독일‘레드닷 디자인 어워드 2024’지속가능성 분야에서 본상을 받았다고 7일 밝혔다.

업사이클 롱보드는 타이어를 재활용해 만든 보드로,롯데자이언츠 역대 순위한국타이어의 지속가능 프로젝트‘리무브’를 통해 탄생했다.

업사이클 롱보드의 중앙 데크에는 타이어 재활용 고무 시트가 들어있어 노면과의 충격을 완화하고,소음·잔떨림을 감소시켰다.

또 디자인 면에서는 롱보드 상판에 타이어 트레드(지면과 맞닿는 타이어 표면) 패턴과 블록을 연상시키는 그립 테이프를 부착했고,롯데자이언츠 역대 순위하판에는 한국타이어의 브랜드 아이덴티티를 나타내는 그래픽을 더했다.

업사이클 롱보드의 바퀴에는 한국타이어가 생명과학업체‘체커스팟’과 공동 개발한 바이오 폴리우레탄이 적용됐다.
